Gurkha Royal Challenge

Hello, Everybody. Today's review is of the Gurkha Royal Challenge. This Cigar comes in four sizes, Robusto 5 x 50, Toro 6 x 50, Churchill 7 x 52, XO 6 x 60. Royal Challenge is a mild to medium bodied cigar that is smooth and complex. The blend is highlighted by an aged silky Connecticut/Ecuadorian shade wrapper, a Habano/Honduran binder that is perfectly complimented by Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. This delectable cigar is worthy of the Royal Challenge. Rated 91, winner of the 2012 SAPPI European Printing Awards. The pre-light draw was not a surprise as it provided classic flavor notes from a Connecticut/Ecuadoran shade wrapper of butter, wood, and a touch of cedar. Noticeable there was a quick jolt of cedar/pepper spice that started the cigar experience. This pepper blast settled rather quickly and the cigar took on a profile of butter, wood, and cream. The cigars run around $5.00 to $7.00 depending on the shape. At that price they are a nice value. If you like s fuller bodied cigar, other Gurkha’s will be more to your liking. But, if you are looking to try something different and don’t want a lot of spice the Gurkha Royal Challenge is for you.
