CAO MX2 Robusto
Hello Everybody, Today's review is CAO Mx2 Robusto
The outermost leaf is an ultra dark, super oily Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro, while the inner wrapper is a fuller-flavored Brazilian Maduro. This double-wrapper combination promotes a rich, flavorful smoke that’s smooth throughout with lingering hints of spice. To mix the pot even more, the folks at CAO use a blend of select long-fillers from Nicaragua, Honduras, Peru, and the Dominican Republic to complete this complex cigar, packing it full of spicy sweet layers of flavor.
Wrapper : Connecticut Broad Leaf
Filler : Honduran, Dominican, Nicaraguan, Peruvian
Binder : Brazilian
Size: 5 x 52
Cost: $7.00
Time to Smoke: 80 mins
Construction: Dark Chocolate wrapper, stout and firm in the hand. Seams are pretty tight; there are a lot of veins, Double Cap on the head of the cigar.
Pre-Light: Aroma of molasses, earthiness, spice is faint
1/3: Once lit getting a sweetness, seems very mild cigar. I bit of Black pepper on the retrohale, a underlying flavor of chocolate. On top of those flavors smooth earthy notes.
2/3: The dominant flavor is chocolate. Directly behind a sweet flavor that is almost a rasin, followed by earthy notes. The pepper is still faint in the background. But there is something else, it might be the Brizilian binder. Brizilian puro, have a unidentifiable flavor in my opinion.
3/3: No changes in term of flavor. The smoke is becoming thick and coated the mouth more.
If you are a Maduro fan than you may like this, I would compare it to the Camacho’s Triple Maduro..
Overall rating: 8/10
