Pinar del Rio Small Batch Reserve Dark Corojo Robusto
Hello Everybody, Today's review is Pinar del Rio Small Batch Reserve Dark Corojo Robusto
Pinar Del Rio Small Batch cigars boast a core of Corojo Ligero, Seco and Viso tobaccos from Estelí & The DR, a Dominican Criollo '98 binder leaf, and your choice of two Brazilian wrappers - a dark Ligero Maduro or a tawny Habano wrapper. The cigars are deftly rolled using the more intricate entubar method for a better draw and crisp burn. The Habano offers sweet, spicy, creamy, and leathery flavors, while the Maduro offers flavors of wood, earth and light spice.

Construction: Wrapper is very dark brown. A Very firm cigar, no soft spots and very well packed. Noticeable veins and a light oily shine, and also a Triple cap.
Pre-Light: Sweet scent, close to a raisins or molasses and Slight hay note. The foot has the same sweetness and hay combo, and a slight earth note.
1/3: A rich sweet date flavor smoke with a bit of cocoa with the first draw. Getting notes of cocoa, sweet dates and oak. Oak is a bit more present in the flavor profile. Between draws I am left with sweetness and rich oak spice on the palate. The burn is perfect, a tight line at the end of the stick, and the ash is snow white in color.
2/3: Oak spice eases slightly, the sweet cocoa and date flavors starts to take over the smoke experience. Notes of hay, and deep earthiness is present in the smoke. The draw also opens up and becomes full and even. The smoke is still cool, creamy, sweet, rich and full. The ash is holding , and very tight.
3/3: Start to get a nicotine buzz and strength is medium. The smoke is sweet cocoa and oak flavors are more intense then previous thirds. The oak however is not as spicy, but sweet and pleaseant. Note of dates, earth, hay and bittersweet chocolate. The burn is evan and needs no touch up.
