Camacho American Barrel Aged

Hello Everybody, Today's review is Camacho American Barrel Aged

Utilizing nearly 100% American leaves, Camacho Barrel Aged boasts a bold, oily Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper with American Broadleaf tobaccos also making appearances in the binder and filler tobaccos. The key to the blend comes in the form of a special Corojo filler leaf that’s aged for 6 years, only to be additionally stored in bourbon barrels to impart a truly unique flavor to an already stellar blend.

Hand-Made

Origin : Dominic Republic

Wrapper : "American" Connecticut Broadleaf

Filler : American Broadleaf, Pennsylvania Maduro, Honduran Corojo

Binder : "American" Connecticut Broadleaf

Size: 6 x 60

Cost: $11.00

Time to Smoke: 80 mins

Construction: American Broadleaf wrapper is milk chocolate in color with a little Colorado red mixed into it. Hints of oil on the surface. Very smooth to the touch and minimal veins throughout, seems very tight.

Pre-Light: The cold draw delivered notes of earth with some bourbon sweetness mixed in. I also picked up a subtle pepper.

1/3: Opens up by showing multiple flavors and there are many directions the flavors are going. First the American tobacco flavor and it is rich and earthy, sweetness is present and it is nice. Then you get the flavors of the Honduran Corojo flavors: heavy spice, leather, and tobacco notes. Final getting the bourbon flavor and it makes for a complex cigar. The construction is terrific and it is showing an even burn line. The draw is producing a great bit of smoke

2/3: it continues to show a complex flavor profile that really hits every aspect of the palate. The spice, leather, and strong tobacco note from the Corojo are present.Earth note with that bourbon quality, but it is not overpowering. It is a full flavored cigar in this third, the construction continues to be top notch in this third and it is showing that even burn line

3/3: The body and strength are at an easy full level in this third and you can taste the strength of all the tobacco in the blend from the Corojo to the American Broadleaf. Flavors have intensified as well. I am picking up some strong earth notes, and there is a nice bit of pepper and spice present with that.

Camacho American Barrel Aged is that the American tobacco used in the blend was air cured process like most tobacco for cigars and not fire cured like some other tobacco. Result is a more natural cigar that is very much appealing to multiple people.

Overall rating: 10/10
